‘The Psychological Construction of Emotion’, by Professor James Russell

James RussellJames Russell is Professor of Psychology at Boston College, and editor in chief of Emotion Review. His work focuses on affective responses to space, emotional interpretation of faces, and children’s understanding of emotion. Along with his colleagues at the Emotion Development Lab at Boston, Russell’s work challenges existing psychological paradigm of universal emotional expression. He has suggested abandoning the concept of emotion as a scientific term, treating it as a folk concept instead.
