Queen Mary, University of London has one of the largest concentrations of scholars working in the field of political thought within the United Kingdom, with an almost unparalleled expertise that stretches from the Renaissance to the present day and includes the political thought of America, Britain, France, Germany, Greece, and Italy. The Centre also has considerable strength in the history of legal theory and contemporary political thought. Members of the Centre work principally in the Schools of History, Law, and Politics. It is an interdisciplinary group which is located within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Structure

The centre is interdisciplinary and attracts members from across the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Queen Mary. The centre’s current Co-Directors are Professor Andrew Fitzmaurice, Professor Quentin Skinner and Professor Georgios Varouxakis. Dr Leslie James, Professor Gareth Stedman Jones and Dr Waseem Yaqoob sit on the centre’s Executive Committee, while the Advisory Committee is made up of Dr Jean-François Drolet, Dr Maurizio Isabella, Dr Maksymilian Del Mar and Dr Isobel Roele.
