Queen Mary, University of London has one of the largest concentrations of scholars working in the field of political thought within the United Kingdom, with an almost unparalleled expertise that stretches from the Renaissance to the present day and includes the political thought of America, Britain, France, Germany, Greece, and Italy. The Centre also has considerable strength in the history of legal theory and contemporary political thought. Members of the Centre work principally in the Schools of History, Law, and Politics. It is an interdisciplinary group which is located within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
The centre is interdisciplinary and attracts members from across the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Queen Mary. The centre’s current Co-Directors are Professor Richard Bourke, Professor Quentin Skinner, and Professor Georgios Varouxakis. Professor Gareth Stedman Jones, Dr Mira Siegelberg, and Dr Aline-Florence Manet sit on the centre’s Executive Committee, while the Advisory Committee is made up of Dr Jean-François Drolet, Dr Maurizio Isabella, and Dr Maksymilian Del Mar.
