Symposium on sovereignty and human rights

The Queen Mary University of London Annual Symposium in the Humanities and Social Sciences will be held on on 15 January 2016, on the theme of Sovereignty and Human Rights.

The Symposium will consider two new books: Richard Tuck’s The Sleeping Sovereign and Samuel Moyn’s Christian Human Rights.

Samuel Moyn’s Christian Human Rights can be purchased directly from the University of Pennsylvania Press or from Amazon. The proofs of Richard Tuck’s The Sleeping Sovereign, due out in February, will be pre-circulated on request to registered participants. In addition to Samuel Moyn and Richard Tuck, the speakers are: Annabel Brett (Cambridge), Christopher Brooke (Cambridge), Udi Greenberg (Dartmouth) and Sarah Shortall (Oxford). The complete programme will be distributed in due course.
