Summary:

The life and work of Oskar Kokoschka (1886-1980) is a protest against monotony – the monotony of existence. In his latest book, literary scholar and Professor of German Rüdiger Görner illustrates the fascinating and contradictory versatility of this epoch making multi-talented Austrian artist. The biography offers new and unexpected insights into the life of the famous and influential painter, poet and playwright.

The closing event of the season is co-organised with and will take place at the Austrian Cultural Forum, 28, Rutland Gate, London SW7 1PQ (Tube: Knightsbridge).
