The QMUL South Asia Forum is pleased to host a panel discussion of Waqas Butt’s new book, Life Beyond Waste: Work and Infrastructure in Urban Pakistan <\/i><\/a>(Stanford, 2023). This historical and ethnographic account of Lahore demonstrates how waste work has been central to organising and transforming urban landscapes, infrastructures and life in the city.<\/span><\/p>\n Waqas Butt <\/b>is Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the University of Toronto. <\/span><\/p>\n Julia Corwin <\/b>is Assistant Professor in Environmental Geography at the LSE. <\/span><\/p>\n Layli Uddin <\/b>is Senior Lecturer in Politics and International Relations at QMUL.<\/span><\/p>\n This event will be chaired by Majed Akhter, <\/b>Senior Lecturer in Environment and Society at KCL<\/span><\/p>\n All welcome.
