The South Asia Forum and the Sexual Cultures Research Group<\/a> are pleased to welcome Srila Roy for a discussion of her new book, Changing the Subject <\/i>(Duke University Press, 2023)<\/a>. The book maps the rapidly transforming terrain of gender and sexual politics in India under the conditions of global neoliberalism.<\/span><\/p>\n

Srila Roy <\/b>is Professor of Sociology at the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. She is the author of Remembering Revolution: Gender, Violence and Subjectivity in India’s Naxalbari Movement <\/i>(OUP, 2012) and editor of New South Asian Feminisms: Paradoxes and Possibilities <\/i>(Zed Books, 2012).<\/span><\/p>\n
