The 13 participants came from the University of Cambridge, Charles University and QMUL and spent a week together creating web app prototypes from design through to implementation, testing and presentation. The theme was &#8216;palimpsets&#8217; from the Library&#8217;s collections, showing off some amazing items with undertext and overtexts from different periods, in different languages and on different topics! This year we offered all the digital images from a <a href=\"https:\/\/iiif.io\/\">IIIF<\/a> server for the teams to use in their prototypes.<\/p>\n<p>Tweets from the week were collected with the hashtag <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/handson2019\">#handson2019<\/a> and sent from our Twitter account <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HandsOnDH\">@HandsOnDH<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"CDH - Hackathon (Long)\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/350729299?h=5a90ca6984&amp;dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3>Web Prototypes from the Teams<\/h3>\n<p>Links to online prototypes that the three teams made during the Hackathon.<\/p>\n<h4>\u2018Team Reagents\u2019: Codex Zacynthius<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/trnka.korpus.cz\/~lukes\/the-reagents\/\">Explore the science of multi-spectral imaging and the Codex Zacynthius<\/a> with an exhibition app for a visiting tourist. Designed for a landscape iPad.<\/p>\n<h4>\u2018<span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-1qd0xha r-ad9z0x r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">Team Quit<\/span>\u2019: The Creative Scriptorium<\/h4>\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/creative-scriptorium.netlify.app\/\">Create your own palimpsest with a friendly animal guide<\/a>, designed for a 7-year-old to discover how palimpsests are made. Designed for a landscape iPad and touch input.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h4>\u2018Team Kar$son Krew\u2019: Aquila<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/hackathon-qmul.delfiin.net\/#\/interaction\/aquila_v\/0,2\">Discover the secrets of the Aquila palimpset<\/a>, designed for a history-loving exhibition visitor.
