Hackathon 2024: 17-21 June, Cambridge University Library

The 2024 Hackathon takes place in collaboration with the Hidden in Plain Sight project which is using cutting edge technologies from 3D microscopy and Micro-CT scanning to DNA analysis and Xray Florescence to explore how ancient books were used, modified and venerated.  Successsful applicants will join the project’s team at the world-renowned Cambridge University Library, where they will work to create prototypes of a web-based public history output from this project.  Prototypes and the ideas they generate will engage with diverse audiences beyond the University and will inform the project’s final outputs.  The programme will bring together students with varied levels of technical and historical  knowledge to work alongside the project team including researchers, developers, curators, catalogers and conservators. The programme will include students from:

  • The Hebrew University, Jerusalem
  • School of History, Radboud University Nijmegen
