{"id":152,"date":"2015-03-17T13:50:25","date_gmt":"2015-03-17T13:50:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/projects.history.qmul.ac.uk\/emotions\/?p=152"},"modified":"2015-05-23T08:06:24","modified_gmt":"2015-05-23T08:06:24","slug":"the-carnival-of-lost-emotions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/projects.history.qmul.ac.uk\/emotions\/events\/the-carnival-of-lost-emotions\/","title":{"rendered":"The Carnival of Lost Emotions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/emotionsblog.history.qmul.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Carnival-group-NHM.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"312\" height=\"299\" \/>The Centre for the History of the Emotions at Queen Mary, University of London and Bart&#8217;s Pathology Museum bring you THE CARNIVAL OF LOST EMOTIONS, supported by the Wellcome Trust.<\/p>\n<p>Join the mysterious Ringmaster, his Lost Emotions Machine and his team of historical assistants, as we take a dark and unsettling look at the emotions of the past and present.<\/p>\n<p>On 13th March 2013, between 18.00 and 21.00 at Bart&#8217;s Pathology Museum, be amazed as the Lost Emotions Machine pulls long-forgotten, obsolete, and non-&#8216;Western&#8217; emotional states from the ether.<\/p>\n<p>Emotional states such as Koro, Accedia, Lack of Moral Fibre and Nostalgia will be revealed and explored, with examples from real historical cases.<\/p>\n<p>From modern neuroscience to medieval monks &#8211; this emotional journey will amaze and surprise you!<\/p>\n<p>Doors open for free wine and nibbles at 18.00; show starts at 19.00 and lasts just under an hour.
